Joan C. Bryskiewicz

WESTFIELD – Joan C. (Bloxam) Bryskiewicz, 86, of Westfield, passed away on May 5th, 2025, at Heritage West in Agawam.  Joan was born on June 16th, 1938, in New Haven, CT to the late Lesley Bloxam & Anne (Tilbury) Bloxam Duffney.  She graduated from Commerce High School in 1956 and married the love of her life Eddie (Walt) in 1958.  They raised their family in Westfield.  Joan went back to work when the kids were older, first at Buxton, ending up at the Big Y in Westfield, where she spent over 30 years mostly working in the deli.  She retired at the age of 75.  She loved to bake and cook – her whiskey cake was famous!  Joan enjoyed sewing and all kinds of crafts, and loved to make stuffed rabbits and bears, gifting them to her family and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her husband Eddie in 2011, and her brother Leslie Bloxam in 2014.

She leaves her children, Debbie Brown and her husband Richard of New Bern, NC; Walter and his wife Jo-Ann of Hampden; and Edward and his wife Donna of Enfield.  She also leaves two granddaughters, Amanda Lennen and her husband Jacob, and Callahan Murphy; a great-grandson Mercer Lennen; as well as extended family and friends.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 15th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.  Burial will be Friday, May 16th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam. Donations may be made to any charity.
