WESTFIELD: John J. Parrow, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016 after a long illness. Born in Glens Falls, NY on July 28, 1936; son of the late John and Genevieve (Reilly) Parrow. Jack is survived by his sister Lynne Rutledge of Las Vegas, NV and his four sons Jeffrey and his wife Anne of Lancaster, Steven and his wife Marybeth of Westfield, Craig and his wife Kimberly of Southwick and Christopher and his wife Michele of Southwick. Jack was a graduate of St. Michael’s (Northampton) High School (1955), St. Anselm College (1959) and Western New England College School of Law (1978). Jack retired in 2013 after thirty five years as a self-employed attorney in Westfield, a time in which he developed many life-long friendships. He received a commendation from the Hamden County Bar Association for pro bono legal services to low income families. He was a past member of the Westfield Rotary Club. He was a strong supporter of St. Anselm College and received the Golden Service award from the St. Anselm Alumni Association in 2009 recognizing fifty years of service. Jack was admired by his sons for his big heart and sharp sense of humor. In his earlier days he enjoyed running and skiing and was especially fond of his dog, Ginger. His later years were occupied by his love for his eleven grandchildren. He will be missed by Daniel, Gregory, Neil, Andrew, Dylan, Collin, Maxwell, Devin, Cameron, Ashley and Griffin. The family would like to thank Jack’s friends at Armbrook Village as well as the staff at Governor’s Center in Westfield. The funeral for Jack will be held on Thursday, January 21st at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of The Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road in Southwick. Burial will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
