WESTFIELD: John “Jake” Egloff, Jr., passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Monday, August 30,
2021. He was born to the late John Egloff, Sr. and Lillian Egloff in Holyoke on January 27, 1939.
Jake attended the Westfield school system and graduated from Westfield Vocational School in 1957. Jake followed the path of his father, John Egloff, Sr., into the Air National Guard and served alongside him during the Berlin Crisis in Germany. He was very proud that his son Patrick and his grandson Ryan would join The Guard and extend the Egloff legacy to four generations of guard service. He was a lifelong resident of Hampton Ponds. Jake enjoyed NASCAR, porch time with family and friends, coffee time with the guys at Pucs and his fellowship at Montgomery Community Church.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years Kathryn “Kitty” Egloff. They are survived by their children Nancy Roche and her husband Sean of Tolland, CT, Patrick Egloff and his wife Tracey and their children Ryan and Alyssa of Southampton, Laura Egloff-Slater and her husband Ralph Slater, III and their children Jocelyn, Katelyn, Phillip and Kyle of Russell. He also leaves his sister Lillian Jean Egloff and many nephews and nieces and was predeceased by his brother George Egloff.
The calling hours for John will be on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4-6PM in the Firtion-Adams Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A funeral home service will follow at 6PM in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
