WESTFIELD – John R. Brill, 83, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. He was born in Gardner on November 21, 1933 to the late John R. and Ione (Cobb) Brill. He has been a resident of Westfield since 1947. He was a 1953 graduate of Westfield High School. He was a U.S Army Veteran serving from 1956-1958. He worked in the Quarry for John S. Lane and Sons for many years retiring in 1995. John enjoyed the outdoors, antique cars, tractors and Lionel trains. He leaves his wife of 34 years Karen A. (Parenzo) Brill, his children Linda Markey and her husband Stuart of San Diego, CA, John E. Brill and his wife Theresa of Westfield, Anthony J. Brill of Westfield, Patricia Fanion and her husband Robert of Westfield and Philip Joubert and his wife Tanya of Gloucester. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and his brother David Brill and his wife Nancy of Westfield.
The funeral will be held on Monday August 14 at 11 AM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11 AM on Monday.
