FLORIDA – Joseph C. Sampson, Jr. 79, (1942-2021) passed away at home in Coral Springs, FL on June 30, 2021. He was born in Westfield, MA to the late Dorothy (Slater) and Joseph C. Sampson, Sr. and was a graduate of Westfield Trade. Joe Sampson’s career started as an electrician in the Navy in the late 50s in which he earned many distinguished awards most notably being in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs. After his time in the Navy he started to build houses which lasted 50+ years of building and developing land; spanning from the Florida Keys, to developing and building Westfield’s and many surrounding towns prominent neighborhoods up to notable areas such as York, Maine. Joe’s passion was being a world traveler and an avid animal lover, he was able to live a life that many of us could only dream of. He was a man who left a lasting impression on anybody who met him. Although he is gone he will certainly not be forgotten.
Joe is survived by his loving children, John J. Sampson and his wife Nicole and Tracey A. Burke and her husband Scott and his cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Nick, Quinn and Tyler, all of Westfield and his partner Beryl Hilton of Coral Springs, FL. He also leaves two brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
