Joseph F. Mihlek (Nov. 14, 1945 – Aug. 7, 2014), 68, passed away after a long illness. Born in Westfield, he was the owner/operator of J & H Tree Service in the early 70’s until the early 80’s. He also worked in the carpenters and construction union. Joseph was an avid guitar and 5-string banjo player. For years he played and sang with various groups in the area at fairs and live music gatherings.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Joseph leaves behind his 3 children; Matt, Becky and Jason, his brothers Lewis of Nevada and Charles of Westfield, his sisters Veronica Avery of Blandford and Julie Manzi of West Springfield, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Westfield. Funeral services are private.
