Joseph W. Pignatare

WESTFIELD – Joseph W. Pignatare, 67, (1957-2024) born on September 19th, 1957 to Frank and Margaret (Wingate) Pignatare, passed away on September 30th, 2024 after a long illness.

Joe graduated Westfield High in 1975 and was a lifelong resident of Westfield. He worked several years for an independent contractor installing cable TV and later on worked as a mobile mechanic. Sports was Joe’s passion, especially the Yankees, but all New York teams. He also enjoyed indulging in the casinos now and then. He was an avid golfer when he was younger.

He leaves behind the love of his life, for the past 23 years, his wife Gwen (Denis) Pignatare, his stepson Bryan Roderick of Westfield, his niece Rachel Pignatare and her wife Julie and their daughter Maggie of Chicopee and his niece Becky Pignatare and her daughter Emma of Chicopee. He will be sadly missed by his fur babies Macy and Gabby.

Joe was predeceased by his brothers Gary and Franny Pignatare.

A special thanks to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for all their years of special care and to Baystate Hospice. Also, a special thanks to his friend Paul Sico who has been there for Joe at a moments notice these past few years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brigham and Women’s Department of Cardiovascular, 75 Francis Street, Boston, MA or an animal shelter of one’s choice. A Funeral Home Service will be held for Joe on Friday, October 4th, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
