WESTFIELD – Joseph “Gerry” Willwerth, 65, resident of Westfield, MA passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013. He was born on January 17, 1948 in Medford, MA to Mary (Edgett) and Walter Willwerth.
He graduated from Somerville High School. He owned his own carpeting business in North Adams and later worked in Westfield in carpeting sales. Gerry was an avid golfer and Boston sports fan. He loved to spend summers at the beaches of Salisbury, MA and Wells, ME with his partner of 25 years, Harriet and their grandson, Joshua.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Harriet Stevens of Westfield, MA. Also a sister, MaryAnne Lem and her husband, Jimmy of Merrimack,NH; two brothers, Bob Willwerth and his wife Linda of Saugus, MA and Jack Willwerth of North Andover, MA. Also many nephews and nieces and his grandson, Joshua and granddaughter, Erica.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street in Andover, MA on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon at the Church immediately after the Memorial Service.
