WESTFIELD – Josephine T. (Iwanicki) Zabielski, 95, of Westfield died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Westfield. She was born in Chicopee on December 16, 1917 to Joseph and Sophie Iwanicki.
Josephine has lived in Westfield for the past seventy years. She worked at the former White’s Quaint Shop in Westfield for many years. Josephine was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield and a member of its Rosary Society.
She was the widow of Vincent Zabielski who died on March 9, 1996. Josephine leaves her son, Lawrence P. Zabielski and her daughter Phyllis Stanisewski and her husband Robert all of Westfield. Josephine also leaves a sister, Lena Babula of Thomson, CT; five grandchildren, Teresa Gihon, Pamela Bruneau, Stephen Sanisewski and Richard and Jeffrey Zabielski, and eight great grandchildren, Alan and Kate Gihon, James and Eric McNeice, Morgan, Brody, Lucas, and Evan Zabielski. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Frederick Iwanicki and three sisters, Alice Jamroz and Jennie and Helen Iwanicki.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
