Kyle Barnas, 31, of 106 Barnard Road, Granville, was released on his personal recognizance pending an Aug. 7 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery brought by State Police.

In a bench trial, Jan A. Dudek, 53, of 34 Beach Road, Southwick was fond not guilty of a charge of violation of a protective order brought Agawam police.
Joshua S. Mendez, 22, of 919 Southampton Road, saw a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license brought by Westfield police dismissed upon payment of a $50 court fee. He was found to be not responsible for a charge of obstructing an emergency vehicle.
Jose M. Velez, 39, of 15 Miller Street saw a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon dismissed when the alleged victim asserted her marital privilege and refused to testify.
