WESTFIELD-Keith E. Phillips, 63, (18 August 1956 – 13 December 2019) a lifelong resident of Westfield, MA passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, with his sisters by his side. Keith was born on August 18, 1956, in Westfield, MA to Edward J. Phillips and Floy E. (Williams) Phillips. Keith graduated from the Westfield Technical Academy class of 1975. He earned a Class A CDL from New England Tractor Trailer Training School. Always ready to hit the road, Keith found great enjoyment riding the 18 wheels of his big rig.
Keith’s life passion was playing pool. He was an accomplished amateur Level 6 player and he was most proud of competing in Las Vegas in two 8-ball Team National Championships where he placed 33rd and 17th of 750 teams. His most recent team, Russell VFW players commented that he was well loved and extremely skilled in the APA community, and that Keith helped bring many teams to numerous 1st place finishes. Keith took great pride caring for his father in his later years. He spent many hours volunteering alongside his father who is the founder and president of Westfield Dog Bark. He was a passionate supporter of his Sister Lisa’s involvement in the Paradise City Dragon Boat team of cancer survivors and supporters as he battled his own cancer. In spite of his many challenges and struggles in life, Keith had a kind and grateful heart, filled with love that he so deeply yearned to express. He will be greatly missed.
Keith is predeceased by his mother Floy E. Bradshaw. He is survived by his father Edward J. Phillips of Westfield, MA, 2 daughters; Stephanie (Phillips) LeDuc and her husband Brian LeDuc of Westfield, and Carly (Phillips) Haftmann and her Husband Christopher Haftmann of Granville; a sister, Debra (Phillips) Cigal of Westfield, a sister Lisa (Phillips) Butler and her husband Brian Butler of Westfield; a brother, David J. Phillips and his partner Judy Barra of Westfield; 5 grandchildren; Breighly, Grayson, Ellie, Murphy and 1 on the way, along with many nieces and nephews and other family members.
