WESTFIELD–With spring coming soon, your yards may need some help getting ready.
Luckily, the husband-and-wife co-ownership duo at Kelly’s Home and Garden, located on Springfield Road at the former Westfield Home and Garden site, have their business’s doors open and shelves stocked with many items to assist. They are open now and their stockpile of yard and garden items is growing daily as they gear up for their grand opening later next month, along with the rush that traditionally comes with the spring time of year, while still accommodating their current customer base. In addition, many of their products are local, which the Kelly’s feel is very important.
“What we try to focus on is service and keeping our business local as much as possible,” Brian Kelly said.
“We’ve seen Westfield come a long way and we’re glad to see the change,” Stacey Kelly said. “If it comes through Westfield we will try and get it.”
And this means that the products the Kelly’s bring in are often from local merchants and makers. For the springtime, they will have bulbs, perennial and annuals flowers and plants, vegetable plants and fruit trees that are all available for planting in your own garden–and many will come from local gardens and farmers.
Then, if you want to beautify your home or garden with decorations, whether it’s birdfeeders to draw in the blue jays, orioles or cardinals, or it’s unique décor to put up in your porch to enjoy while you watch the Blue Jays, Orioles or Cardinals–the baseball teams–then Kelly’s Home and Garden has many choices, with work from local artists and craftspeople.
However, if you need some help with all this–perhaps you need to learn how to properly plant that azalea bush–then Kelly’s Home and Garden will soon be starting classes for that, too.
“Classes will be coming up in April potentially,” Brian Kelly said. “Instructional courses
related to plants and gardening.”
Sometimes though, local products may not cover all that you need. But according to Brian and Stacey Kelly, that doesn’t stop them from providing products for different needs. The shop will be carrying a variety of fertilizers this season, with more coming in every week. Additionally, Brian Kelly said that their store will be stocked with Husqvarna power equipment to help make yard maintenance easier.
