Westfield – Kevin J. “Bear” Halloran, 55, (1961-2017) died peacefully at his home on May 30, 2017. Kevin was born December 16, 1961 to the late James K. and Janet E. (Taylor) Halloran. Family was the center of Kevin’s world. He is survived by his three brothers, Michael and his wife Jan, Timothy and his wife Nancy, Christopher and his wife Lisa and one sister Maureen Halloran. Kevin was the proud uncle of his cherished nieces and nephews, Cara Paquette, Kelly Halloran, Kyle Halloran, Steve Halloran, Melissa Johnson, Kelsey Halloran, Philip Johnson and Sara Halloran, and two great nephews Jack and Benjamin Paquette. Kevin had an unrivaled friendly demeanor and instantly befriended everyone he met. He is survived by many beloved friends whom he considered family. Family and friend gatherings will be incomplete without his presence. The highlight of his year was trying to outdo his nieces and nephews with his Christmas Yankee swap gift. Kevin worked for Coca-Cola for the past 27 years. He loved all Boston sports, especially the Bruins. He was the “king of the slow clap” at Fenway Park. Kevin, along with friends, enjoyed their yearly outing to the Saratoga Race Track for the benefit of the Al Yaracz Endowment Scholarship. He also enjoyed sharing time and stories with his friends at the Sons of Erin, Rocco’s and Slovak Hall.
Kevin’s family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Kevin’s name to Westfield Youth Hockey, P.O.
