WESTFIELD – Kevin Joseph Fedora, 63, peacefully passed away on October 28th, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born and raised in Westfield, MA, Kevin was known for his warmth, passion for life, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was Valedictorian of his graduating class from Westfield Vocational High School, and he went on to become an electrician and telecommunications engineer. He dedicated his career to Wyben Electric/Industrial Technical Services and, after 28 years of service, Kevin recently retired from Westfield Gas+Electric, where he was respected for his expertise and work ethic.
Kevin was a lifelong member of St. Peter/St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church and cherished his second church family at Wyben Union Church, both located in Westfield. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him through challenges and enriching his relationships.
His love for music ran deep; he was a talented drummer and a member of several bands over the years, including 91 South, City View, Rum Runners, the Greater Westfield Community Band, and the Westfield Theatre Group. He also enjoyed sharing his passion for music with everyone around him by singing karaoke at every opportunity!
A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox (especially the 2004 World Series team!) and New England Patriots, Kevin found joy in cheering on his teams. He was active in the Westfield Pickleball community and the Edgewood Golf League, where he proudly played as a member of the “Ballbusters.” He was also a member of the Westfield-West Springfield Elks Lodge #1481, where he ran the Elks Pitch League and rode with the Elks Rider Motorcycle Club. Additionally, Kevin was a member of the Westfield Slovak Hall and American Legion Post 124. Among other things, he enjoyed bowling, skiing, kayaking, 4-wheeling, summer vacations on Cape Cod and in Aruba, and spending time with family and friends.
Kevin’s spirit was defined by his generosity, kindness, and perseverance. His friends and family will remember him for his kooky sense of humor, his resilience, and the countless ways he enriched their lives.
He is survived by his three sisters: Gail Hines (Bob), Marcia Fedora, and Susan Fedora, along with beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, John “Red” and Florence (Fournier) Fedora, his sister, Carol Waite, and his brother, Donald Fedora.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the compassionate staff at Massachusetts General Hospital for the wonderful care they gave to Kevin, as well as to the many friends who helped him along on his journey. A special thank you goes out to his devoted friends, Liz Avalone and Mike Mastroianni, for their unwavering love and support during the past two years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church (22 State Street, Westfield), immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Crestview Country Club (281 Shoemaker Lane, Agawam). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society – Astra Zeneca Hope Lodge Center, Boston, MA.
