WESTFIELD – The Kevs Foundation donated an AED to the school and put a challenge out to the students to raise awareness on AED’s and CPR . The students in conjunction to raising awareness collected loose coins for two weeks to give back to the Foundation. Each classroom raced against each other and the grand prize for the most raise, is awarded a Pizza Party donated by the Foundation. Ms Natario Class raised $299 to be the highest in collections and wins the pizza party.
The Kevs foundation mission is to raise awareness of AED training and placements , CPR training and awareness along with providing Free Heart screenings to your communities for kids 13-19 years of age. To date the foundation has donated 9 units to the community in honor of Kevin J Major a resident and graduate of
Southampton Rd School, who died July 2011 due to HCM.
From the donation received from Southampton School the Foundation is looking to pay forward the gift and donate another unit to a Elementary school in Westfield until all the schools in town have an AED’s and are a heart safe school system.
