The group of the Key Club scholarship recipients this year at Westfield High School has collectively performed 2122 service hours during their four-year high school career.
This year $4,000 was distributed to 16 deserving Key Club students. The club keeps a very elaborate database on each student and the amount each student received this year was determined on a weighting formula calculated on years in Key Club, meeting attendance, office held, and service hours. Service was weighted four times more than the other three conditions.
Monies for these scholarships are raised from the Key Club annual golf tournament. Since the Club is not sponsored or supported by any Kiwanis club we ask parents, friends, businesses, etc. for support to keep this program alive. If you golf then we would love to have you playing in our 7th annual tournament at the Southampton Country Club on August 3rd. If you don’t then there are other ways you can contribute. Please consider participation at any level you feel comfortable. For more information please call Andy Oleksak at 568-7950.
