Westfield – Ms. Lauren Lynch Wright died unexpectedly in Westfield Massachusetts on January 4, 2018. She is survived by her son, Liam L. Wright and grand-daughter Alexis Wright of Westfield Massachusetts; and sister Barbara Lynch of Elkhart Indiana (husband Greg Sprunger). She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. William and Dorothy (Henchey) Lynch and her sister Dory McKenna. She also leaves brother-in-law Dennis McKenna, niece Bridget McKenna-Powers, nephew Ryan McKenna and grand-nephew Jordan McKenna of Springfield Massachusetts.
She was born on December 15, 1955 in Springfield MA to William and Dorothy (Henchey) Lynch. She attended St. Mary’s Schools of Westfield, Westfield State University and University of Massachusetts-Amherst, obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration. She leveraged her considerable business skills at the local Registry of Deeds and the Westfield Gas and Light Company. She was dedicated to the rate payers of this municipality and served for 29 years, most recently as Credit Manager. Lauren served on the Board of Directors of the Westfield Boys and Girls Club and several local non-profit organizations for many years. She was known as a generous and tireless worker for many causes and participated in many Westfield community activities. Her “can do” attitude made her the go-to person for help for many people. In 2008, Lauren was named Westfield Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the Year, and was nominated and received the Westfield Rotary Paul Harris Citizenship Award. She participated in presenting a scholarship for St Mary’s students in her parents’ name.
Lauren was devoted to her family. Her cheerful disposition was described in the nickname given her by the younger members of the family: “Sunny.”She was active with children, working as a Water Safety Instructor at Red Cross and Camp Shephard. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and crafts and could often be found at Stanley Park with her grand-daughter.
A funeral mass will take place in Lauren’s honor on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 12noon at St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. Arrangements are entrusted to Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation in Southwick, MA.
