Laurie A. Dwight-Beliveau

WESTFIELD: Laurie A. Dwight-Beliveau, 52, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Baystate Medical Center. She battled a very rare and aggressive form of breast cancer, but never stopped fighting. She was born on March 16, 1962 in Plattsburgh, NY. She attended schools in N.Y. and Chicopee and was a 1980 graduate of Chicopee High School. Laurie moved to Chicopee and lived with her aunt and uncle Nancy and Earnest Small. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from WNEC. Laurie was a dedicated employee throughout her years. She worked for KB Toys in Pittsfield, MA, Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT, Baystate Medical Center in Spfld, MA, and most recently at Belcan Corporation in Windsor, CT. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, where she received the Pius X Award for outstanding service to the parish in the area of religious education. She worked on the Advancement Board at St. Mary’s Parish, was the former president of Westfield Girls Lacrosse, committee member of KEVS Foundation, and team mom for Franklin Pierce Women’s Lacrosse. Laurie leaves her husband of 28 years David J. Beliveau, her daughters Megan Paige and Nicole Morgan Beliveau of Westfield, her mother Bernice Mulvihill and step-father Edward, her sister Brenda Huerta and husband Donald, her brother Tori Dwight, and her nieces and nephews Joseph, Amanda, and Rebecca Huerta, Alysa O’Connor and Tori Dwight Jr., all of Chicopee. She also leaves her mother-in-law Elaine Beliveau of Chicopee. The funeral for Laurie will be held on Saturday March 7th at 10 am from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield at 11 am. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Friday March 6th from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laurie A. Dwight-Beliveau Memorial Fund, c/o Westfield Bank, 141 Elm St., Westfield, MA 01085. Donations will go toward Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Research.
