WESTFIELD – Lillian Chistolini, age 94, (1930-2024) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to George and Mary (Liptak) Monko, on August 19th, 1930, living most of her life in Westfield and was a proud member of the great WHS Class of 1948. Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Bruno, in September 1953, who predeceased her in 2006 after 53 years of marriage. She graduated from Bay Path College in 1950 and accepted a position with Stanley Home Products where she worked while raising a family until her retirement in 1991.
Lillian enjoyed life. She was always there to help others, and loved music, dancing, reading, skiing (when she could) and traveling. Lillian also enjoyed cooking her special baked stuffed shrimp and chicken parm for family and always sending grandkids off with leftovers and great desserts. Lillian loved spending time in Wells, Maine, where she enjoyed walking the beach, boogie boarding and socializing with her many Bear’s Den friends, especially Barbara and Donna. She also loved to volunteer and worked as a VIPS volunteer at South Middle School library. Lillian was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, where she was very active in the Catechism program, and served on the Western Mass Deanery Board for several years as well as the Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with friends, especially the weekly Wednesday Cousin’s Coffee Club.
Lillian was predeceased by her brothers, Jacob and Robert. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Landis. She is also survived by her four children, Christopher (Debra), Linda (Robert), Mark (Christine), and Carol (Michael), nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Firtion Adams on Monday, October 21st, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
