Linda A. Hardie

WESTFIELD – Linda A. Hardie passed on August 24th, 2024 at 76 years young. She leaves behind her “Leap Year” son, Michael J. Hardie, and his girlfriend, Tanya Stipek. Her brother, John Biegalski, and his wife, Czessia, and their son Matthew Biegalski and his girlfriend, Shannon McDavitt. But most of all, her beloved companion, fellow traveler, “sweetheart” and loving husband, Richard “Rick” C. Hardie.

Linda grew up in Westfield where she met her beloved Rick. When he entered the military, they traveled to Hawaii where they lived for a short time. They then made their way to San Francisco for a bit. Many laughs and memories were made, but they eventually decided to settle back home with family and friends in Westfield.

Back home in Westfield, her and Rick raised their leap year baby, Michael. Together, they all embarked on several life adventures. The whole family spent many years volunteering for the Westfield Little League, all while making new and wonderful friends there. The “Hardie” House would be a place of fun, and sanctuary for many of Michael’s friends.

She worked with pride for many companies throughout the years like Digital, the Westfield School Cafeterias, the Ranch, and Hamden Village. Each work experience brought on more friends, and laughs.

Next to Rick, Linda’s other loves were flower gardens, dragonflies, refereeing the bird feeder, the beach, and especially hummingbirds. Their gardens were some of the most amazing gardens you’ll ever get to see.

There were many trips, but her favorites were always with family and friends to Maine, Burlington, and Disney. Her eyes would twinkle with excitement for the yearly family trips to Maine. She’d plan out every aspect of the trip according to the food, point of sunrise, and where we had the most fun.

Linda was amazing at many things, but her most amazing trait was the love she gave. Her life advice was unwavering, and her planning was next to none. She had a solution ready for any possible situation, but always in the most caring way. For many years to come, we’ll always be asking ourselves: “What would Lyi Lyi do?”

She’ll never have any idea how much she’ll be missed. But if there’s any advice she would give to everyone now, it would be to do what you love, make friends along the way, travel light, and laugh often.

In lieu of flowers, Linda would want donations to be made to Whip City Animal Sanctuary. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA at 9:00 a.m. www.firtionadams.com
