HUNTINGTON – Students at Littleville Elementary School are again taking part in the “Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive”, sponsored by Scholastic Book Clubs.
They are accepting donations of new pajamas, suitable for all seasons and all ages, which will be distributed to local shelters and organizations in the greater Springfield area and surrounding communities. Scholastic Book Club matches each set of pajamas with a new book, to help make a better bedtime for children living in foster care, group homes, homeless shelters and orphanages.
Later that month, students will take part in an all-school assembly at the end of the school day to count the number of pajamas that have been donated. The project’s area coordinator will come to pick-up the pajamas that day.
This is the third year that Littleville has taken part in this service project. Last year, students collected 250 sets of pjs in the drive!
Anyone wishing to donate can bring their new jammies to the Littleville Elementary School office during school hours (9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.) before December 9. Pajamas must be brand new in complete sets. Children’s pajamas must be manufactured as pajamas to ensure that they are flame-retardant and safe.
