Kim Bolduc to serve as Union College Minerva House leader
SCHENECTADY, NY – Kim Bolduc, of Chester, will serve as the communications chair of Messa House, which is part of Union College’s Minerva House system. Union’s Minerva House system is a unique way of blending academic, social and residential interests. All students and faculty are assigned to one of the seven houses, where the overstuffed couches beckon, and discussions on anything from Euclid to YouTube inspire lively debate. Many professors teach first-year preceptorials in their Minerva Houses, and some upper-class students live on the residential floors above the common areas. With a generous programming budget, the Minervas host hundreds of events each year, created and run by student house leaders. Kim is a member of the Class of 2017
Jordan Brock of Westfield enrolls as Eastern Connecticut State University student for the fall 2015
WILLIMANTIC, CT – Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of newly enrolled students for the fall 2015 semester. Jordan Brock of Westfield, is attending Eastern this fall. Brock’s major is Psychology.
“We are pleased that Jordan has decided to attend Eastern and has the opportunity to experience the benefits of our liberal arts education while enjoying student life on our beautiful campus,” said Chris Dorsey, director of admissions. Dorsey notes that Eastern freshmen come from 161 of Connecticut’s 169 towns, from 25 other states and from 18 other countries.

Alyssa N. Walker, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadet at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, R.I., has graduated from the Cadet Leader Course (CLC) at Fort Knox, Ky. CLC is a 30-day summer training event focused on training cadets to solve complex leadership issues and problems at the company level. Walker is the daughter of Bryan and Michelle Walker of Southwick. She is a 2012 graduate of Southwick-Tolland Regional High School

Western New England University Class of 2019 Pharmacy Students honored in White Coat Ceremony
SPRINGFIELD – Western New England University College of Pharmacy Class of 2019 students recently took part in the program’s traditional White Coat Ceremony. Seventy-four Pharmacy students were given the short white coat, which marks the student’s transition into the profession of pharmacy and the start of their journey to becoming pharmacists. The Western New England University College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program is a 4 year course of study which is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. 9th Grade Southwick-Tolland-Granville-Regional Student, Esther Kang, accepted to Early College
GREAT BARRINGTON – It’s not every day that a 9th grader is accepted to college before finishing high school. But for one Southwick freshman that’s exactly the case. Esther Kang, 15, earned a place in the fall 2015 entering class at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Kang’s academic and personal achievements secured her a spot at the early college this fall. The Simon’s Rock campus in Great Barrington, Massachusetts is home to over 400 bright and highly motivated students engaged in a rigorous college education. Early college students are on track to graduate from college one or two years ahead of their peers.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must carry 14 or more credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.5. University at Albany Hosts Summer Orientation Visitors
ALBANY, N.Y. – Westfield’s Kenneth McLean recently attended freshman orientation at the University at Albany and are planning to attend. The fall semester begins August 26.
