The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Southwick Resident Courtney Birchall Named to Stonehill College’s Fall 2013 Dean’s List
EASTON – Stonehill College recently named Southwick resident Courtney L. Birchall, a member of the Class of 2014, to its Dean’s List for the Fall 2013 semester. Mary Calabrese Receives Dean’s List Recognition at Paul Smith’s College
PAUL SMITHS, NY – Mary Calabrese of Westfield has been named to the dean’s list at Paul Smith’s College for the fall 2013 semester. Calabrese, who majors in baking and pastry arts, earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction. Calabrese was also named an Adirondack Scholar, having achieved a cumulative average of at least 3.8.

University of Rhode Island names about 4,300 students to the Fall 2013 Dean’s List
KINGSTON, RI – The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that about 4,300 undergraduates have qualified for the Fall 2013 Dean’s List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, and many other states and nations.
To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Nazareth College Announces Students on Dean’s List for Fall 2013
ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth College announces its Dean’s List for the Fall of 2013 semester.
Nicole Charette of Westfield is a sophomore with a major in Sociology and Inclusive Education .
Brittany Hughes of Westfield is a senior with a major in Communication Science & Disorders and a minor in Psychology.
A student’s grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean’s list at Nazareth.
Local Hamilton College Student Appearing in Choir Musical Candide
CLINTON – Shannon C. Boley, daughter of Kathleen Shea of Westfield and Christopher Boley of Woodstock, is appearing in the college’s choir musical production of Candide, Feb. 7-9, at Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
The musical Candide (National Theatre Version) features music by Leonard Bernstein, with book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler in a New Version by John Caird. The fully staged musical is directed by G. Roberts Kolb with choreography by Nancy Long and set and lighting design by William DiPaolo.
Based on Voltaire’s novella of the same name, Candide opens in the mythical Westphalia, at Schloss Thunder-ten-Tronck, the ancestral home of the Baron. The Baron’s children, Cunegonde and Maximilian, along with their illegitimate cousin, Candide, and the maid, Paquette, are instructed by their tutor, Dr. Pangloss, that “all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.”
Boley, a first-year student, is a graduate of Westfield High School.
