Lottie Massai

Granville- Lottie (Jaworski) Massai, 93, (1923-2017) devoted wife of 54 years to the late Elmer Massai; and the oldest living resident in the town of Granville, passed away May 1, 2017 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lottie was born on May 10, 1923 in Meriden, Connecticut; a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Szubertowicz) Jaworski and was a resident of Granville for the last two years, having moved from Southwick, where she resided for over 70 years. 

Lottie and her husband Elmer, owned and operated  Elmer’s Sport and Bait Shop on Congamond Lake for many years.  Besides her parents and her husband, Lottie was predeceased by her two sisters, Anna Bernardara and May Figlioli; and her brother, Casimer Jaworski. Lottie is survived by her  three beloved sons and their wives, Paul J. and Donna Massai of Southwick; Dale D. and Cindy Massai, and Michael A. and Denise Massai, all of Granville; 6 cherished grandchildren, and 6 cherished great grandchildren; 2 loving sisters, Sophie Podgerski of Southington, CT and Kay Pulaski of Meriden, CT. Lottie will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews.

Her funeral service will begin on Friday (May 5th, 2017) at 10:30AM from the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway,(Highway 202/10), Southwick; followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated, at 11:30AM in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, MA. Calling hour will take place from 3:00PM – 7:00PM, on Thursday (May 4th, 2017) in the funeral home.
