WESTFIELD: Louise (Waichulis) Cook, 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 5, 2015 in a local nursing home. She was born in Brighton, MA on December 29, 1917 to the late Simon and Rosalee (Sonaite) Waichulis. As a young girl, she went back to Lithuania with her family where she attended school and helped out on the family farm. Louise returned to Brighton by herself as a teen staying with family friends. She held a couple of different office jobs in Canton, MA where she met and married the love of her life, Chet. They married in 1947 starting their journey together settling in Westfield in 1959, with stops in Brockton, MA and Torrington CT.
Louise loved gardening, cooking, following the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox, and above all spending time and caring for her family. She also loved traveling with Chet to the Carolinas, Florida, California, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. She was also able to travel back to Lithuania to visit family there.She was pre-deceased by her husband Chester A. Cook in 2006 and her son Alan D. Cook in 2013. She leaves her son Chester E. Cook and his wife Kathlyn of Southwick, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.The family wishes to thank the staff at Renaissance Manor for the wonderful care afforded Louise throughout her stay and in particular during her final days.A private graveside service will be held on November 19, 2015.
