Wild & Scenic Westfield River Volunteers and curious community members were treated to a free morning of macro madness on the West Branch looking for and identifying river bugs. This is part of our annual Wild & Scenic Saturdays series offered to increase our collective knowledge, appreciation and participation in river stewardship. One more Wild & Scenic workday remains!
Join us on the East Branch Trail, starting at the TTOR Chesterfield Gorge, Oct. 5th from 9am. – 1pm. and help clear out the drainage ditches, clear wooden decked bridges, cut back the overhanging branches and learn some simple maintenance techniques that can be applied to any trail. Community members like you can save thousands of dollars and help maintain miles of trails simply by practicing a few techniques when your building a trail or just out hiking. Contact Meredyth Babcock, Volunteer and projects coordinator for the Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee to sign up or get on her list of interested community members. 413 623-2070 Ask about our hike, lecture and end of the year stream team sharing being held on October 24th.
