YMCA to start co-ed adult dodgeball league
WESTFIELD – The YMCA of the greater Westfield area has dropped the gauntlet, announcing today that they will be starting a co-ed dodgeball league this spring for area weekend warriors looking to strut their stuff in this classic schoolyard game.
Teams may have between 6 and 10 players on a roster, but one doesn’t need to make a team to participate. Interested players may register themselves, and they will then be picked up by one of the participating teams .
Matches will be held on Friday evenings from 5:30-7:30 at the YMCA on 67 Court Street in Westfield. The league will run for 8 weeks, with teams playing four games a week, beginning Friday, March 23rd. Registration is currently underway, the last day to register being Thursday, March 22nd.
The league will be played under the rules of the National Amateur Dodgeball Association’s official rulebook. There will be an end of the season celebration with prizes awarded to the squad with the best record.
The cost for the league is $340 per team, which will help to front the cost for league maintenance, as well as the end of season celebration. Teams may be sponsored by local businesses/ outside organizations if they so choose.
