SLED HOCKEY SHOWDOWN:
WMASS KNIGHTS v. UMASS ACHA MEN’S HOCKEY TEAM
WESTFIELD – The WMASS Knights Adult Sled Hockey Team will be facing off against the UMASS Men’s ACHA hockey team (in sleds) on Sunday, April 1st, at 11am at Amelia Park Ice Arena. All proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children and CHD’s Disability Resources program. Donations of $5/person will be taken at the door.
“We are very excited to take on the WMASS Knights,” said UMASS ACHA Head Coach Steve MacKay. “It is truly amazing to see these athletes play and support the organizations that give them the opportunity. I can’t wait to see how our players respond in sleds.”
The Melha Riders will be at the event with $5 raffle tickets to win a 4-speed mini-chopper. Proceeds for the mini-chopper will benefit the Shriners.
Members of the UMASS ACHA hockey team will be providing pictures for all those in attendance.
The WMASS Knights, and their junior team, the Springfield Sliders, are supported by CHD’s Disability Resources. The teams will be hosting the 14th Annual New England Invitational Sled Hockey Tournament at Amelia Park Ice Arena from April 27-29, 2012.
