SOUTHWICK – Margaret Ann (Henahan) Smith (1940-2023) wife of the late Harmon A. Smith, Jr., died June 9th, 2023.
She was born in Hartford, CT a daughter of the late James and Ann (Poutre) Henahan; and was a Southwick resident for 50 years.
Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper for Windsor Shade Tobacco, Hartford. She and her husband were very instrumental in organizing Motocross 338 in Southwick. She was past president, past treasurer, past secretary and continued to be active right up until her death with American Legion Auxillary #338. Margaret actively volunteered her time at the Southwick Senior Center.
Margaret was an avid quilter and belonged to many quilting clubs. She enjoyed her time at the family camp in Arlington, VT.
Margaret is survived by two daughters, Laurie Smith and husband James R. Fromm, Patricia Sawczuk and husband Stephen; three sons, Frank Wallick, Robert Wallick and his wife Carolyn, Patrick Smith and wife Coleen; one brother, Thomas Henahan; one sister, Jane House and husband Alan; six grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Casey Smith, Caitlin Boland, Kevin Bisaillon, Joseph Bisaillon, Amanda Wallick; nine great-grandchildren; extended family members.
Calling hours will take place from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A graveside service will follow in New Southwick Cemetery.
