WESTFIELD- Margaret C. (Fitzsimmons) Burris, 86, of Westfield, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Westfield. She was born in Scotland on May 2, 1928, daughter of the late John F. and Mary (McEwan) Fitzsimmons. Margaret moved to Westfield from Greenock, Scotland where she grew up and attended local schools. She worked at Wal-Mart for 20 years, retiring in August of 2014. Prior to that, she worked in Ames Department Store for 25 years and Torrington Needle Co. for 10 years. Margaret was a very social person and enjoyed traveling, reading and crocheting. She was the widow of the late George E. Burris who died on August 27, 1992 whom she married in 1954. Margaret was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Westfield. She leaves a son, John F. Burris of East Longmeadow and two daughters, Susan and Alison Burris, both of Westfield. She was predeceased by a brother John and a sister Jean. The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 7 PM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will precede the service from 5-7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
