WESTFIELD – Margaret R. (Roit) Barlow, born August 18th, 1953 at Noble hospital in Westfield MA, passed away Saturday, February 25th 2023, at Baystate Noble Hospital after a 5-year battle of breast cancer surrounded by her family.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Marion Roit of Westfield MA and her brother Paul Roit of Westfield MA. Peggy was married to the love of her life, Robert J. Barlow, for 48 years when he passed away in 2019.
She is survived by her brother Stephen and Joan Roit of Montgomery MA, her sister Kathy and Bill Noret of Russell MA, her brother William and Julie Roit of Westfield MA, her son Kevin and Christina Barlow, her daughter Kelly Barlow, her cherished grandchildren Tobey Barlow, Emma Rose Bean-Barlow, Rebecca Barlow all of Westfield MA, her beloved dog Buddy as well as many nieces and nephews. She leaves her lifetime best friend Penny and Jay Coffey of Onset MA.
While raising her children, Peggy maintained a career at Big Y foods for 35 years where she retired in 2022. Bob and Peg cherished family and friends, with their favorite vacation spot at Race Point in Cape Cod. They shared the love of fishing, boating, and the outdoors. Peggy was always going above and beyond helping friends and family where needed. And for all of you that knew Peggy she had a very stern way of showing her love. Peggy was always the life of the party with a contagious laugh that could be heard across town.
We want to thank Peggy’s Baystate Oncology team, as well as her caregivers at Baystate Noble Hospital and her hospice nurses for their above and beyond care.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 4th from 9-11 am at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
