WESTFIELD – Marion F. (Horney) Coffey, 83, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away suddenly June 7, 2013, at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Westfield, MA the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Florence (Newkirk) Horney.
She was educated in the Westfield schools and a graduate of the Westfield High School Class of 1947. Marion was employed for 32 years at the Westfield Savings Bank, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, WHS Class of ’47 Lunch Group and the Former Massachusetts State Troopers Association.
Marion was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Coffey, a former Trooper with the Massachusetts State Police and her brother, Ernest Horne of Westfield, MA. She leaves her loving daughters, Debra A. Dame and her husband Gary of Huntington, MA and Kathleen M. Coffey-Daniels of Eastham, MA; her 5 treasured grandchildren, Ashley Deschenes and her husband Greg of Chicopee MA, Sarah Dame of Huntington MA, Meaghan Williamson and her husband Alex of Hudson MA, Douglas Daniels and Timothy Daniels, both of Austin TX; her two adored great-grandchildren, Callie Hope Deschenes and Lincoln Williamson, and many nieces and nephews.
Marion loved the time she spent on Cape Cod, and cherished her time with her family, especially when in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, at 9:00 a.m. from the Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street, Westfield, MA followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. Calling Hours will be held Sunday, June 16, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cusack Funeral Home.
