SOUTHWICK: Mary (Gruneiro) Hadley, 95, (1925–2021) passed away at home on July 10, 2021. She was born in Westfield, MA on August 31, 1925 to the late Rosendo and Soccorro Gruneiro. Mary attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until she left to start work at Stanley Home Products, and later at the Sterling Press until she retired.
In 1951, she married George Hadley and they settled in Southwick to raise a family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, George in 2005, her sister Lisa Hebda and her brother Domingo Gruneiro.
Mary will be deeply missed by her children Edward Hadley and his wife Elaine of East Harwich, MA and Linda Hadley of Southwick, MA; her cherished grandchildren Sarah Barker and her husband Jim, Jeffrey, Stephen and Paul Hadley and her great-grandchildren Hayden and Jaxon Barker, all who were the lights of her life and greatest joy. She is also survived by her younger sister Josephine Tessier; daughter-in-law Deborah Hadley and many nieces and nephews, all who showed their love for her in many wonderful ways.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 9:45 – 10:45 AM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon at St. Mary’s Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in New Cemetery in Southwick.
