CHICOPEE – Mary L. McDonald, 73, of Chicopee, MA went to her eternal rest on March 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke, MA on June 4, 1939 to the late Clarence Landry and Mary Page Landry.She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1957 and earned her BA from Westfield State College. She worked in the automotive industry for many years as a Financial Controller, retiring in 2009 from Business West. Mary was an artist, enjoyed golf, reading and gardening. She most enjoyed her family and her beloved canine baby, Belle. She was a devout Catholic.
Mary leaves her husband, Jerry McDonald, the love of her life. She also leaves her five daughters and their spouses; Mary and William Curran Jr, Kathleen and Thomas Pitoniak, Constance Locy and Larry Megill, Denise and Robert Cashin, and Leann and Michael Fanion. Mary leaves 13 grandchildren; Matthew, Beth, William, Amanada, Michael, Nathan, Andrew, Robert, Daniel, Katie, Benjamin, Johnny and Adam. She was predeceased by her first grandchild, Ronald Skroczky, Jr.in 1987. Her three great grandchildren were Elijah, Andrew and Gabriella Mary. Mary leaves her siblings, Dorothy Eddy, Ted Landry, Edna Johnson, Lawrence Landry, and was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Landry.
Calling hours will be will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A Liturgy of Christian for Mary L. McDonald will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
