Mary S. Queipo

WESTFIELD: Mary S. (Cressotti) Queipo, 90, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at home surrounded by loved ones and is now reunited with the love of her life, her dear husband of 65 years, Larry. She was born in Westfield on July 9, 1925 to the late John and Irene (Consolotti) Cressotti. She was a lifelong resident of Westfield, attended local schools, and was a 1943 graduate of Westfield High School. She worked at Old Colony Envelope before marrying Larry in 1947. She was a department manager at W.T. Grant’s Dept. Store until its closing and was a lunch mother at Highland Elementary School for many years. Mary was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church and was a volunteer at many of the church dinners. She was an avid bowler at Community Lanes and Romani’s. She enjoyed traveling with Larry, especially to visit her family in Italy, and spending time with friends at the camp in New Hampshire. Mary also attended yearly reunion lunches with her childhood friends from Church Street. She was the family historian and enjoyed taking and collecting photos of her family for her treasured photo album collection. She loved playing Bocce and Pitch, sewing, crocheting, putting together puzzles, and playing with her great-grandchildren. Mary was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence P. Queipo in 2012. She leaves her son Ronald L. Queipo and his wife Penny, her daughter Linda M. Burns and her husband Miles all of Westfield, her grandchildren Damien Thompson of East Greenwich, RI, Catherine Bader of South Hadley, Jill Trainor and her husband James of Springfield, Stephanie Morris and her husband Sean Elovirta, Jacquelyn Morris and her husband Michael Seaha and Miles Burns III, all of Westfield. She also, leaves five great-grandchildren Michael Seaha IV, Cole Seaha, Maxwell and Evelyn Bader, and Massimo Elovirta; her sister Jennie Hart of Southwick, her sisters-in-law Edna Cressotti of Westfield and Elizabeth Queipo of Tampa, FL, her brother-in-law William Buckley of Muskogee, OK, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her brothers Frank and Constanti Cressotti.

Calling hours for Mary will be held on Thursday, February 25th from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A Mass will follow at 12 noon in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
