WEST SPRINGFIELD – Matthew Blanchard, 26, of West Springfield passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.He was a 2005 graduate of Westfield Vocational Tech. Matt was an avid hiker especially on the M&M Trail and Mt. Tom. He enjoyed playing his video games, listening to his favorite music and driving his car. Matt loved his summer vacations in Maine with his family. Two of his greatest joys were boating on the Ct. River with his grandparents and spending Thanksgiving in Maine, also with his grandparents. He was a delivery driver for several years which fit perfectly with his love of driving.
Matt leaves his beloved mother, Karen Blanchard and his step father of West Springfield; his father, Gerald Raymond of Florida his maternal grandparents, Richard and Beverly Blanchard of Westfield and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Sharon and Gerald Raymond Sr.
Funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are omitted.
