Michael E. Condron

WESTFIELD – Michael E. Condron, 60, of Westfield passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in the loving presence of his family. Mike was born January 7, 1959, to the late James and Mary (Quinn) Condron of Westfield. Growing up on Fairview Street, he graduated from Westfield High School in 1978. Mike loved the open road, and after graduation he logged countless miles behind the wheel for Big Y and Westwood Cartage Inc., always learning of and sharing the best local restaurants on and off the beaten path regionally in the northeast. As much as solitude graced him professionally, he was equally social and networked through the community back home. Mike was a devoted member of Slovaks Citizens Club, Sons of the American Legion Post 124, Elks Lodge 1481, St. Rocco’s Men’s Club, and the Westfield Moose Lodge 1255. Never a stranger, one of his greatest passions was raising money for his social clubs by organizing local dinners and participating in golf tournaments. It was also through this network that he was able to enjoy his lifelong passion for New England sports. Through thick and thin, Mike was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots, and proudly supported Westfield athletics on the local front. Mike always remembered your name and your story. Whether you met him once, or knew him your whole life, he treated everyone like family and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by long-time partner Carolyn Dineen of Holyoke, her children and grandchild Logan; his brother Tom and wife Kenda of Charleston, IL; sister Kathy Doton of Westfield; nieces Kyla Ballinger (Steve) of Mattoon, IL, and Kelly Doton of Waltham, MA; nephews Tim Condron (Danell) of Matoon, IL, TJ Doton (Molinda) of Kirkland, WA, and Sean Doton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; along with several great-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted by Firtion Adams Funeral Home in Westfield. Calling hours will be 10-1pm on Tuesday, May 28, with a cemetery service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

All are welcome at Slovak Hall after the service for a celebration of Michael’s life.
