Michael T. LaCroix

WESTFIELD – Michael T. LaCroix, 63, (1960-2024) passed away on April 7th, 2024 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on April 16th, 1960 in Westfield, he was the son of Elizabeth (Andras) Mitchell and the late Kenneth LaCroix. He was a proud life-long resident of Westfield and spent his adult life serving the community and town he loved.

Michael was a long-serving member of the Westfield Police Department, retiring after 30 years as Lieutenant. He was a dedicated member of the Westfield – West Springfield Lodge of Elks #1481 where he served as a Trustee, running and organizing many events for the club and local community. In addition to his police service, he also served as a member of the Air Force National Guard at Westfield Barnes Air National Guard Base.

Michael was an enduring fan of New England sports, in particular the New England Patriots. He enjoyed many games with friends and family at Gillette Stadium or watching at the Elks Lodge with friends. During his winters in Florida, he frequented JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers to watch the Boston Red Sox spring training in addition to spending time with friends.

In addition to his mother Betty and stepfather Richard Mitchell of Westfield, Michael is survived by his three children, David LaCroix (Mira) of East Granby CT, Matthew LaCroix (Megan) of Westfield, and Kalli Yoder (Alex) of Waynesboro , PA; his brother James LaCroix of Westfield MA; two sisters, Carrie Kennedy (David) of Westfield, and Joanne Burnette (Rocky) of Chicopee; three grandchildren, Carson, Lucas, and Emma Yoder; along with extended family members and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Michael’s calling hours which will be held from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA.

His funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 19th, 2024 at the Westfield Evangelical Free Church, 568 Southwick Road, Westfield.

Michael will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield with rites of committal following the funeral service.
