WESTFIELD – Michael W. “Skip” Puza, 77 died Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He was born in Westfield on November 6, 1938 to the late Walter and Louise (Taudal) Puza. He was a lifelong resident, attended local schools and was a 1957 graduate of Westfield High School. His senior year of high school Skip was the captain of the baseball, football and basketball teams. After high school he signed a contract with the N.Y. Giants baseball team. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Skip worked for Micro Abrasives and then worked for the Westfield Gas and Electric for many years and retired as a manager. He was an avid hunter, hunting in Mass and Vermont and co-owned Buck Fever in Stockbridge, VT. In 2004 he killed a record buck in VT, an 8 pointer 234 pounds. He leaves his children Bernie Puza and his wife Kathy of Westfield, Moja Mobrice and her husband Dave of Russell, Matt Puza and his wife Rachael of Blandford, Timmy Puza and his wife Randi of Holyoke and Chloe Premny and her husband Greg of Westfield, his grandchildren Ayla, Haley, Moja, T.J., Emma, Brandon, Nick, Madison, Matthew, Ryan and Christine, and 2 great-grandchildren. Skip also leaves his brother Louis “Tuff” Puza and his wife Charlyn of Wyben, his sister Louise “Toni” Puza of Westfield, his aunt Jo Taudel of Westfield and his uncle Edge Taudal and his wife Nancy of Springfield, 2 nephews, 1 niece, several cousins, his former wife Chloe “Kiendzior” Puza and his cat Millie.
