Agawam- Mildred M (Duquette) McCaffrey, 91, (1923-2015) passed away Sunday April 12, 2015 in a local nursing home. Born December 26, 1923 in Altuna, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delphine (Provost) Duquette. Mildred attended high school in Canada and came back to the United States graduating from the Mercy Nursing School. She worked in area hospitals as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Mass Pro. Mildred was a communicant of Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. She was predeceased by her husband Edward M McCaffrey in 1991 and by her daughter Margaret McCaffrey in 1966. Mildred leaves a son, Edward M McCaffrey and his wife Elaine of West Springfield; and a daughter, Kathleen LaBreck and her husband Francis of Chicopee; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her funeral will take place on Friday April 17, 2015 at 9 am from the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St (Rt 20), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke Rd, with burial to follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, all in Westfield. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm. The family would like to thank all the staff at Heritage Hall West and Baystate VNA and Hospice.
