Holyoke – Muriel V. (Fournier) Lupien, 86, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Mt. St. Vincent Care Center. She was born in Holyoke on January 12, 1932 to the late Charles and Melvina (Marier) Fournier. She grew up in the South End of Holyoke, attended Holyoke public schools and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Muriel worked at Orlandi’s Restaurant during High School. She married her husband Armand G. Lupien in 1951. Muriel worked at Holyoke Wire and Cable, Holyoke Magazine Press and for the Holyoke Public Schools Cafeteria System. She and her husband were proprietors of Charlies Seafood in Holyoke for over 20 years. She also lived in Southwick for 10 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting and going to Southampton Quilts on a weekly basis. She was a parishioner of Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and Our Lady of The Lake Church in Southwick. Muriel was pre-deceased by her husband Armand G. Lupien in 2008 who was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. She leaves her son Kenneth A. Lupien and his wife Barbara of Westfield, her daughter Karen Zenkert and her husband Atty. Raymond Jr. of Southwick, her grandchildren Atty. Raymond Zenkert III and his wife Shannon and Michael Zenkert and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give an enormous thanks to the caregivers at Mount St. Vincent first floor and Mercy Hospice for the great care that was given to Muriel. The funeral will be held on Monday July 23rd at 8:30 am from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in the Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt.
