WESTFIELD – The next two weeks are jam-packed with activities for the whole family.
Tonight, Thursday, Aug. 16, MusicFest Westfield, a free summer music series from Westfield on Weekends, presents Ed Orgill and the Western MA All Star Jazz Big Band featuring vocalist Wanda Houston, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Park Square Green.
Houston is a professional singer, actress and song stylist who has traveled the stages of the world searching for the perfect song and performance. Her travels brought her to The Berkshires in 2001 where she has continued to ‘search’ in Musical Theatre, Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Blues, Folk and Rock-‘n-Roll”.
The Westfield Fair begins on Friday, Aug. 17, at 5 p.m. with the opening of the midway, exhibits, craft barn, petting zoo and Farm Museum. The official opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. with the Veteran’s Flag Ceremony. Also at 6 p.m. the dining hall opens, featuring Tacos in a Bag.
6 to 9 p.m. are “Magical Moments” Balloon Sculpture, and 6 to 10 p.m. Truck Pulls
From 7 to 10:30 p.m., “Feel Good Drift” is featured on the main stage.
On Saturday, Aug. 18, the grounds open at 8 a.m., with the Antique Tractor Pull from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Exhibits and Petting Zoo open at 9 a.m., along with the Junior Dairy Show, and the Annual Miss Westfield Pageant on the Main Stage.
The Craft Barn and Farm Museum are open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and at 10 a.m. is the Oxen Show.
At 11 a.m. is the opening of Fun Land and Games, the Junior Sheep Show, and the Ox Draw. The Dining Hall features pulled pork, Cole slaw and beans, or Shepherd’s Pie. The Junior Beef Show is at 11:30 a.m.
At 12 noon on the Main Stage is the presentation of Dairy Scholarships. The Small Stage features Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle from noon to 3 p.m.
1 p.m. is the Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull followed by Kid’s games at the Activity Center.
From 3 to 9 p.m. is “Magical Moments” Balloon Sculpture. The Main Stage will feature “Southern Rain” from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with a Kid’s Bike Raffle at 4 p.m. The Junior Dairy Costume Class is also at 4 p.m. and the Demolition Derby by Skyfire Productions is at 5 p.m.
7 to 10 p.m., Martin & Kelly are on the Main Stage
On Sunday, grounds open at 8 a.m., and Exhibits and Petting Zoo at 9 a.m.
The Adult Dairy Show is at 9 a.m., and the Adult Sheep Show and Goat Show are at 10 a.m. Fun Land and Games open at 11 a.m.
The Main Stage features the Resurrection Airmen Country Band from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Also at 11 a.m. are the Horse Draw, and the Mud Bog-Modified/Trucks/ATV’s/Side by Sides.
At 12 noon are the Adult Beef Judging, Whip City BMX racing, and “Magical Moments” from noon to 5 p.m.
The Dining Hall will feature a Turkey Dinner.
On the Main Stage from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. is Jim Blanch & The Boot Hills Band.
At 6 p.m. is the Westfield Fair Annual Auction.

For more food, music and family fun don’t miss the Westfield Rotary Club Food Fest beginning next Friday, August 25, from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, August 26 from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
On Saturday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. the Westfield Food Fest will also feature a Car show. Advance registration for the Car Show, which is limited to 50 cars is $10 and $15 the day of the event.
