Westminster School Announces Honor Roll Students
SIMSBURY, Conn.- Westminster School in Simsbury, Conn., has announced the following academic honor awards for the fall 2013 term.
Rachel Monroe of Southwick, a senior, earned honors.
Megan Richard of Southwick, a junior, earned honors.
Autumn Prete of Southwick, a junior, earned high honors.
Jacqueline Richard of Southwick, a sophomore, earned high honors.
Brenna Monroe of Southwick, a freshman, earned honors.
Gabrielle Brown of Southwick, a freshman, earned high honors.
McKenna Burelle of Southwick, a freshman, earned high honors.
SPRINGFIELD–Students from Westfield, West Springfield and Granville were among 24 American International College students recently recognized for their campus and community involvement. The students were inducted into Who’s Who Among Students at American Universities and Colleges.
Families, friends, faculty and staff filled the Bradley Room on Thursday, December 12 for the ceremony, as Brian O’Shaughnessey, Dean of Students, presented each student with a plaque.
Tara Scagliarini, a Sociology major from Westfield, is a member of the Model Congress staff, an Orientation leader and a Peer Mentor. She is also a member of the Student Activities Committee.
Marguerite Pratt, a Physical Therapy major from Granville, is the General Chair of Model Congress, a member of the AIC Rugby team and a member of the Lion’s Club. She is also an Orientation Leader and a Student Ambassador.
Alison Fitzsimmons, an Accounting major from West Springfield, is a member of the AIC Women’s Soccer team. She was named NE-10 1st Team All Conference and Academic All Conference.
Students are nominated for inclusion in Who’s Who by campus committees and directory editors on the basis of academic achievement, service to their community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
“Who’s Who” has been published since 1934, and includes students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations.

WAYNESVILLE, MO – Army Spec. Zachary S. McLaughlin has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT). During basic military training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions. During AIT, the soldier completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations. The trainee performed as a team member in support of battlefield operations, installation law and order operations and security of Army resources and installations. Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order. McLaughlin is the nephew of Monica Samuels of Westfield, Mass. He is a 2006 graduate of The Gow School, South Wales, N.Y. He received a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt.
