WESTFIELD – Nancy (Hewitt) Grimaldi, 67, a long-time resident of Westfield, passed away on June 23rd, 2024. She died peacefully after fighting to recover from an unexpected brain aneurysm.
She was born to the late Raymond and Doris Hewitt on June 10th, 1957, in Devonshire, England. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and a member of First Congregational Church of Westfield. Nancy worked as bookkeeper for her family restaurant, The Summer House of Southwick, MA.
She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Richard Grimaldi, her son Timothy Grimaldi and his fiancée Katie Langlois of Southwick, MA, her daughter Kerri Grimaldi and her fiancé Connor Stevenson of South Burlington, VT, her sister Kathy Thompson and her husband Mark of Westfield, MA, her brother John Hewitt of Chicopee, MA, several beloved nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Chris Plasse and her husband Norm of Belchertown. Nancy joins her brother, Glenn Hewitt, in heaven.
Nancy will be remembered for her intricate, handmade greeting cards, of which she sent hundreds to family and friends each year, especially at Christmas. In recent years, Nancy sent hundreds more of her custom cards for donation to Cards for Kindness to pass along to those in isolation.
Good books, hot cups of tea, nature, and family were Nancy’s outlets for peace and comfort. She loved pampering her sweet cat, Bella, and her grandpups, Ein, Taco, and Juniper.
Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy’s life by gathering for calling hours on Tuesday, July 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Her ashes will be spread privately by her family.
