Huntington MA – Nellie M. Dugas, a long-time resident of Huntington MA, passed away Thursday January 4th, 2018 at Noble Hospital. Nellie was born in April 1923 in Rowlesburg, WV. She later lived in both Alabama and Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her parents Larry and Daisy Mazza, her husband Henry Dugas Jr, her brothers James, Joseph, Larry, and Franklin and her sisters Josephine, Dora, Barbra, Rose, and Mary. Nellie spent much of her working life at the Gateway Regional School District as a baker which she retired from in 1985. During her summer vacations she enjoyed spending time camping with her grandchildren at the beach. She also appreciated her Saturdays spent with her mother and siblings which involved delicious food and coffee. In her later years, she enjoyed the holidays with her great- grandchildren. In recent years her life revolved around spending time with her great-great grandchildren, which always put a beaming smile on her face. Nellie’s memory will be forever carried forward by her children Gerald Dugas, Donald Dugas, Sr and his wife Grace, her grandchildren Donald Dugas Jr. and Pamela Bartlett, her great-grandchildren Nathan, Kayla, Cassie, and Kyle, her great-great grandchildren Mia, Kaylee, Garrett, Matthew and Abigail, as well as other family members. Calling hours are Wednesday January 10th from 11am to 1pm at Firtion-Adams, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA with services to follow. All are welcome to accompany the family to food and drinks at St. Rocco’s in Westfield, MA. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
