SOUTHWICK – The Southwick Transfer Station now accepts bulky rigid plastics for recycling.
Department of Public Works Director Randy Brown said the newly accepted items include five gallon buckets, tote storage containers, laundry baskets and children”s toys.
“These items typically were not recycled before,” said Brown.
Signs are being placed in the transfer station letting residents know about the bulky rigid plastic collection.
“We have a bin right next to the main hopper,” casino online said Brown.
While adding convenience for residents, collecting bulky rigid plastics means the town gets some money back for recycling and saves a bit on trash costs.
Brown said residents can recycle many holiday related items, including boxes, gift bags and wrapping paper.
