Olga E. (Wezowic) Sadowski, 96, formally of Westfield, the beloved wife of the late Henry Sadowski, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 9th at Brothers of Mercy Home in Clarence, New York. She was born April 29, 1919 in Windsor Locks, CT and was a daughter of the late Martin and Veronica (Wolnik) Wezowic. For over thirty years, Olga was manager of Helen’s Dress Shop, a bridal store owned and operated by her mother-in-law Helen Sadowski which existed for over 75 years in Westfield. Olga was a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield. She was a member of the Pick-Up & Drop Stitch Club that knitted items for servicemen during World War II. She was also a very active member in the PTA of Ashley Street School. Olga enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She was especially known for her red geraniums, yellow marigolds and dusty miller planted in flower beds surrounding her home. Mrs. Sadowski was an avid Red Sox baseball fan, Carl Yastrzemski her favorite player, and a longtime listener of Bob Steele on WTIC radio. Olga is survived by her son, Dr. Richard Sadowski (Janice, deceased) of East Sandwich, MA, and daughter Cynthia Horrigan (Michael) of Elma, NY, two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Todd Sadowski. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Theodore Wezowic; and three sisters, Helen Ostrowski, Julia Linsky and Wanda Topor. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Brothers of Mercy for their wonderful and loving care they gave Olga during her stay at Brothers of Mercy Home. Olga’s funeral will be held on Monday from 9 AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St. Westfield. Burial will follow in follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 17, from 2-5 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
