WESTFIELD – Ward 6City  Councilor William Onyski said he met with the Conservation Commission, Department of Public Works, stormwater and police late this week about land clearing on the East Mountain Road property owned by Mark and Chris Dupuis, LLC, which is in in his ward.
Onyski said he received a letter, which was printed in The Westfield News this week, saying the landowners were going to comply with cease and desist orders issued by MassWildlife and several city departments.
Onyski said the Dupuis’ were given permission to have wetland surveyors there during the cease and desist order, and the city will be allowed on the property in the middle of next week. He said the surveying company specializes in wetlands, and the stormwater department is also mapping the property.
“They’re going to survey the property and note if there were violations,” Onyski said, adding that the city has to follow the law in its response.
Onyski said that representatives from MassWildlife will be going on the site visit with the city.
