ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — A Westfield couple has been arrested in Rock Hill on drug charges after their van was stopped following an alert received about missing children.
The Herald of Rock Hill reports that 49-year-old Kevin Burns and 34-year-old Missy Stoddard of Westfield were arrested Wednesday night.
Authorities say an officer who spotted the van after receiving an alert from authorities about the van with a Massachusetts license plate.
Police found three small children in the vehicle. Authorities say marijuana, heroin and $3,000 in cash was also recovered.
Burns and Stoddard are both charged with possession of heroin and possession of marijuana.
The children were placed in Department of Social Services custody. It wasn’t immediately clear if either Burns or Stoddard have an attorney.
