Patricia Ann King (Bluemer)

WESTFIELD – Patricia Ann King (Bluemer) passed away peacefully after battling a long-term illness on June 11th, 2024. Up until her last days she remained strong and fierce. Her family was her pride and joy. Patsy as she was known by, not to be mistaken for Patty. She was born in Boston. Patsy lived in eastern MA residing in Charlestown, and Burlington before moving to Southwick MA where she grew up. She was the youngest daughter of Sarah Power and Elmer King. Patsy was a part of the first class who graduated from Southwick High School in 1961. She was in the youth group and church choir at Southwick Congregational Church.

Patsy welcomed her first born son Scott in 1962.  She was a stay-at-home Mother and welcomed her second child Stephan in 1965.  Patsy later on worked as a trucking dispatcher for Ron Shortman and Joe Brennan then becoming Quinn Freightlines. She then went on to work for K&M Electronics in the Human Resource Department and was actively involved with Junior Achievement. Patsy went on to retire from K&M in 2005. While in retirement she was passionately involved in her families genealogy from New Foundland, Canada. She went and visited as well to get knowledge of her ancestors. Patsy also was an avid crocheter, card player, bingo fanatic and a marksman at her local gun club.

Patsy is survived by her sister Janice Hall. She was predeceased by her son Scott M. Prefontaine and brother-in-law Phil Hall in 2007. Along with her oldest sister Shirley Prejzner who predeceased Patsy in 2016.

Patsy leaves behind her beloved husband Paul E. Bluemer of 44 years, and her youngest son Stephan K. Prefontaine with wife Wendy.  Patsy also leaves behind her granddaughters Ali Prefontaine and Sara Prefontaine (Hughes) with husband Christian, as well as her great-grandchildren Broc Maurice and Emma Rose whom she adored. Stepchildren Edwin Bluemer and his wife Shauna. Lori-Ann and Husband Doug Tierney. Karen and Husband Craig Girogis.  Kristal Bluemer, Paula Peters and Cathy Parker. Patsy also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be June 20th at Firtion Adams in Westfield, MA from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Her service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following will be her burial at Southwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Junior Achievement or a charity of one’s choice.
